Mooroopna Programs & Services

Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative operates community, family, housing, justice, health and wellbeing services from its Mooroopna site at 20 Rumbalara Road.

 

Facilities at Mooroopna include:

  • Intake office where we assess clients' needs using an integrated services model we call the Gulnyan Yakurrumdja Service. This means we consider all aspects of your health and wellbeing including your family, social and financial situations, and your work, education and training requirements (if required).

  • Medical Centre offering general practice care, health assessments, and specialist services in Aboriginal health issues including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, diet and nutritional health, eye health, ear health, contagious diseases, drug and alcohol related issues, mental health, and emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

  • Dental Clinic providing preventive and restorative dentistry of a high standard and quality. Rumbalara Dental Clinic can provide specialist services endodontics (root canal therapy), periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery. Other dental services we provide include oral hygiene, dental crowns and bridges, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, and custom-fitted mouth guards.

  • Harmony Centre where we host events, annual general meetings, staff meetings and other large gatherings. Bush Kinder and other Rumbalara services use the Harmony centre to run programs and events.

  • Dunguludja Yakapna Traditional Healing Centre that provides traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, resources and healing services. The Winyanboga Dunguldja (Strong Woman) life skills course is one of many services that operates from the Healing Centre.

  • Storage sheds for hire. Prices start from $77/month for a 2.5m x 3m shed. Contact Youngs & Co on 03 5825 4833 for more information.

 

  • Justice office for clients requiring assistance with legal issues. We also operate intervention services for community members who are at risk of coming into contact with the legal and justice system.
