  • This position leads a team of Aged Care and Disability Support Workers to deliver quality / person-centred / customer focussed outcomes for people being supported.  Within the parameters of the role, the position is responsible for the quality of services, ensuring timeliness and working within the agreed budget.

Dentist

About the role:

You will play an integral part in providing dental care to Aboriginal people, with an emphasis on preventative programs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high quality patient care to the local Aboriginal community and in accordance to our clinical standards and policies

  • Maintain and process patient records in accordance with our Clinical Record Standards and the Health Records Act

  • Occasional supervision of final year dental and BOH students

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration

  • A Bachelor of Dental Science (or equivalent and ADC Certificate)

  • At least 1 year experience

Night Patrol Worker

Role purpose

The Night Patrol Program provides a culturally safe and sensitive free transport service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, which is intended to increase their safety and the safety of community.  It is further intended that the program operates to reduce the risk of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people coming into negative contact with the police and/or the justice system.

 

Transport is provided within a 10-kilometre radius from Queens Garden in Shepparton on a Friday and Saturday night between the hours of 10pm and 2am.

Family Services Specialist Disability Practitioner (New position)

Role purpose

  • The family services disability practitioner role aims to build both disability and NDIS expertise across the community-based family services system. The role will assist children and parents/carers with a disability to access appropriate supports and participate effectively in the NDIS.

 

  • This role aims to address the challenges many families experiencing vulnerability with accessing disability support needs, particularly those available through the NDIS. The family services specialist disability practitioner will have the responsibility of supporting families with NDIS access and participation and assist them to navigate systems of disability support, including the NDIS, disability advocates, disability service providers and mainstream services.

 

  • The role will be responsible for providing disability related case consultations to the broader family services system within each Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) area. The secondary consultation role aims to support practitioners working in family services to maximise the disability supports and outcomes for children with a disability now available through the NDIS.

 

Minimum qualifications required to be considered for this position include: Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Social Work, Community Services, Case Management or equivalent

Family Violence Case Manager - Family Violence Team (New position)

About the role:

  • The Aboriginal Family Violence Case Manger will work closely with the Family Violence Team to address the health, wellbeing and safety needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people experiencing family violence including children, youth, adults and elders.

 

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have experience, knowledge and skills in delivering Aboriginal family violence services, a strong understanding of the complexities of Aboriginal family violence, and the impact of family violence on victim-survivors across all ages, and perpetrators.

 

  • The Case Manager will support the team to deliver high quality, culturally safe and effective responses using an Aboriginal Family Violence Integrated response. Will assist with screening, assessment, triage and short-term support to residents and ensure the delivery of wrap around services.

 

  • You will have knowledge of the various service systems that client’s interface with and the advocacy required in these systems. In this role you will support Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative to deliver culturally safe and inclusive family violence services and where appropriate provide secondary consultations to internal and external stakeholders and proactively build cultural safety and competence.

  • Minimum qualifications required to be considered for this position include Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field, a degree qualification is preferred. However, applicants with significant experience in a similar role and/or currently studying are strongly encouraged to apply.

 About the role:

The Local Justice Worker position aims to minimise the likelihood of Aboriginal people (18+) reoffending and/or further progressing into the criminal justice system through providing support and mentoring, cultural support and activities, and supervised community work opportunities.

You will have strong networks and an in-depth knowledge of the various service systems that client’s interface with and the advocacy required relevant to the individual client’s needs. 

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Confidently raising any issues or concerns in a manner consistent with Rumbalara’s complaints and grievance processes, particularly as they may impact service delivery, the reputation of the organisation and / or the safety and wellbeing of staff and clients.

  • Providing administrative functions necessary to support best practice in the delivery of Justice and Community Services

  • Minimum qualifications required to be considered for this position include Community Services, Youth Work and/or a relevant discipline is desired. However, applicants who are currently undertaking a Diploma level qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.
